Wildlife Watching

Enjoy A Yellowstone Safari

Yellowstone's Lamar Valley, which is often referred to as the "Serengeti of the West," is the premiere wildlife watching hot spot in North America. This is no zoo! Here you will see wolf packs, grizzly bears and herds of bison, elk and antelope interact in a truly wild setting. Many people travel from around the world to see this amazing spectacle. For the most Yellowstone employees, though, it's only a short drive away.

The Yellowstone Co-Op Employee Recreation Program offers wildlife watching trips throughout the summer. We'll drive you to the best view spots and provide scopes, tripods, and everything else you'll need to see the wild animals up close! These trips begin in the early season (May) as cooler spring conditions are conducive to more wildlife activity. Go to your location employee recreation office for more information on these popular trips!
